"Just Stretch It"

Updated: Aug 23, 2022

“My back is super tight, I’ll just stretch it out!” stop this line of thought & go get adjusted!

A study in the Journal of Manipulative & Physiological Therapeutics compared the neurophysiological changes between slow stretches to muscles rather than the fast adjustments. What they found was that slow stretches did not induce the neurophysiological changes that fast adjustments did.

What does this mean? It means the best way to affect a muscle or change the way a muscle is controlled is through a specific spinal adjustment!

So don’t “just stretch it out” and hope it goes away, affect it and make a change via an adjustment.
